First Day of Stockholm Design week

Such bad luck! I lost my camera last night at the award ceremony of Elle Interiör, and all the nice photos I wanted to share with you from the Monday events starting off the Stockholm Design Week. Here are some iPhone shots at least.

Svenskt Tenn has moved into the old cinema Astoria on Nybrogatan 15 during their renovation of the original store at Strandvägen. This year they invited the designers Björn Kusoffsky and Monica Förster to make an interpretation of Svensk Tenn, and they decided to use Josef Frank's fabric Marble 4420, inspired by Jackson Pollock. Boxes with a movement as you open them, new figures, trays with Josef on the back, splashing into a new pattern on the front, a short colourful film to go with it. I loved the move of The Svenskt Tenn store into the cinema - a wonderful idea

Konstfack lamps in the entrance of Svenskt Tenn in Astoria, really nice classic and contemporary at the same time. I want to bring them to Milan!

Mark Isitt tells the audience that Thomas Sandell is the best dressed man in Sweden. He also credits Thomas of always being sensitive to new trends in society, capable of transforming them into his work. This was a book launch hosted by Arvinius combined with a nice retrospective of Thomas work.
I was so lucky to be invited by the fantastic and successful Bolon sisters to their exclusive dinner in the Swedish Hall of Nobleties in honour of their collaboration with the Campana brothers which can be seen at Fotografiska. I was even more lucky to sit next to Fernando Campana during the dinner, and got a chance to speak Brazilian and talk about my favourite country
with Fernando Campana
