April 13-14 The Reboard Barn is born

Har varit i montern mest hela tiden, och försökt att fota både på dagen och kvällen, intressant att se hur väl utställningsgestaltningen verkligen följer de första digitala renderingarna som No Picnic tagit fram. Det jag älskar mest med såna här projekt är att uppleva sant team work. Hur alla de olika kunskaperna är lika nödvändiga för att det ska fungera. Arkitekterna som ritar en montern, och sen kommer producenterna, som verkligen är de som löser det hela praktiskt, skär till 900 kg kartong -reboard - till ladan, konstruerar den på plats, får den att hänga som på bilden, lägger ut hela granplyfan, lägger in "raggarslangen" under som belysning. Sen kommer ljuskillarna med sina skyliftar, får allt ljus på plats. Städarna, ljudkillarna för musiken. Härliga hårt arbetade och resultatinriktade människor. Det är det bästa med hela projektet - att se hur det föds fram med praktiska och kunniga händer. Show don't tell är mottot.

What I really love about these kind of projects is the true team work. Where all the involved persons and skills are just as important for the final result. The practical implementation of all the creative ideas, whithout which there would be nothing more than ideas and words.  All these different kind of persons involved in the production is amazing, the architects, the project managers, the producers, the lighting company, the sound guys.... and finally we reach a result, which in this case looks almost like its original digital rendering. Very unusual! Congratulations to all the team.

Slutlig layout i Milanomontern - Swedish Love Stories 12-17 april

Sista genomgången av layouten i montern i Milano, alla ska få plats, samtidigt som det måste bli en bra stämning och kvalitet i utställning. Målet är att besökarna ska komma in och känna sig välkomna i vårt svenska hem, slå sig ner vid köksbordet eller på någon av de många öarna i skärgården, eller på olika möbler som finns med i utställningen. Allt ska användas och levas med. Samtidigt som varje företag förstås vill exponeras maximalt. Utmaningar och pusslande, men det är en angenäm del av arbetet minst sagt.

We want our visitors to feel welcome into our stand in Milano, at the same time as we try to combine maximum exposure for the individual companies and designers. The furniture we display should all be possible to use, to sit on, to enjoy for the guests of the exhibition. Welcome home is the theme, and the aim with the atmosphere which the industrial design company NoPicnic has created for our exhibition Swedish Love Stories to open in Superstudio Píu in Milan on April 12. På snabbvisit till Milano

Var tvungna att kasta oss ner till Milano för att se om vi på något sätt kunde kombinera en minskning av ytan, trots att vi bokat hela, samtidigt som våra större företag ska få maximal exponering. Vi satt i en rävsax. Släppte vi in en annan extern utställare, skulle vi skära i en av våra utställares yta. Tack vare våra goda och upparbetade relationer med Superstudio, kunde vi nu förhandla ned hela ytan till samma pris, som om vi hade minskat ytan, vilket var en enorm lättnad. De ville gärna ha oss i hela. Alla våra utställare får maximal exponering, vi får behålla vår svenska paviljong och kan disponera ytan fritt. Och lokalen är helt enkelt fantastisk, så inspirerande. Välkomna alla duktiga företag och designer! Nu ska vi göra skillnad i Milano!

Listan är inte komplett, förväntas bli det om bara några dagar, då allt måste sättas, men här är några företag och designer som kommer med: Huawei, Garden Attitude, Gemla, Gärsnäs, Horreds, Kasthall, Monses, Nola, Pappelina, Skargaarden, String, Support Design, Volvo Trucks... och några till pending. Från Västra Götaland, som står i fokus denna gång, väntar vi ett 20-tal designer och några företag, de har sitt slutliga möte idag, så jag återkommer med deras lista! Spännande"!

We were so inspired again by our fantastic Daylight pavillion at Superstudio Píu that we will be using for our Swedish Love Stories in Milan. It is absolutely fantastic, what a space! Our architect Horst Petri from No Picnic came along to Milan and saw it for the first time, really impressed. Superstudio Píu is helping us to get the maximum out of the exhibition and we managed to keep the big space, although we had been discussing the possibility of cutting down, simply because we cannot afford the whole space if we do not have enough exhibiting companies. Anyway, we are in good company, among the other exhibitors in Superstudio this year are Alcantara, Canon, De ponte Studio, Diesel home Collection, Flora, Flux, Foscarini, Magnetti, Samsung Electronics, Seletti, Tagina Ceramiche d'Arte etc and of course Swedish Lammhults coming in big next to us.

No Picnic makes the concept for Swedish Love Stories in Milano

No Picnic's new head quarters on Storgatan in Östermalm are absolutely amazing!! Too bad I cannot take any pictures yet, since it has to be ready first, but then we will really show it all to you. Lots of space for work, meetings, show room, party rooms. Great architecture and design. Sam Peters walks around with a coffee cup in his hand supervising the architects and workers, and looking pretty satisfied by now. Always a big undertaking. Anyway, we went to have a planning meeting for our Swedish Love Stories project for Milan 12-17 of April. No Picnic makes the overall concept - a Swedish red barn and the toptgraphy of the Western Coast - all to fit the nature, romance, materials and industry of Sweden. Young Sebastian Sabouné is the project coordinator and Victor Peters and Horst Petri are the architects. Good and constructive meeting. Now Caroline, our project manager, will go to Göteborg to follow up the Västra Götaland exhibition, the region that will be in focus this time around.
