Cyklade förbi No Picnics nya kontor på Storgatan 23, som hade liten invigningscocktail after work.

Threw myself  between my different national loyalties yesterday, formed during the years we had the privilege to live in different countries. A farewell luncheon was given at the Foreign Ministry for the Brazilian Ambassadro Antonino Mena Goncalves, who has done a terrific effort during his four years here to stregthen the already strong and good relations between Sweden and Brazil. In the afternoon I rushed over to the Östasiatiska museet  to inaugurate the new Permanent collection of 300 Japanese objects together with the Japanese Ambassador Mr Yosiki Watanabe and Princess Christina. (forgot my camera at Svensk Form) the museum had arranged a beautiful ceremony with No Theatre, Taiko Drums, Ikebana installations and held a silent minute to honor the many victims of the disaster in Japan. The lifestyle that was formed during the Edo-era, in the cities and under the Samurai rulership, gives us a good idea of how the discipline, concentration, craftmanship and traditions were formed, that also prevails in today's Japan. Ended the day, visiting the new amazing offices of the innovative industrial design company No Picnic, who gave an opening cocktail for some of their clients. We would all like to start working there tomorrow. (Nopicnic is making our booth in Milan.)

Bland designernamnen: CKR, Anna von Schewen, Alexander Lervik, Fredrik Mattson, Thomas Bernstrand, Monica Förster, Inga Sempé, Broberg & Ridderstråhle, David Taylor, Elisabeth Björkbo, Folkform, Katrin Greiling, Lina Huring, Maria Westerberg, Maria Cullin, Roberto Cardenas, Jeanette Lennartsdotter, Johan Carpner m fl

We were so inspired again by our fantastic Daylight pavillion at Superstudio Píu that we will be using for our Swedish Love Stories in Milan. It is absolutely fantastic, what a space! Our architect Horst Petri from No Picnic came along to Milan and saw it for the first time, really impressed. Superstudio Píu is helping us to get the maximum out of the exhibition and we managed to keep the big space, although we had been discussing the possibility of cutting down, simply because we cannot afford the whole space if we do not have enough exhibiting companies. Anyway, we are in good company, among the other exhibitors in Superstudio this year are Alcantara, Canon, De ponte Studio, Diesel home Collection, Flora, Flux, Foscarini, Magnetti, Samsung Electronics, Seletti, Tagina Ceramiche d'Arte etc and of course Swedish Lammhults coming in big next to us.

Swedish Love Stories getting ready to go to Milan

Dit riktas all koncentration, sen tar man itu med Milano. Budgeten osäker in i det sista.

Speeding up the process for Milan now, only seven weeks to go. Overdrive needed. Despite our early start this time, the final decisions seem hard to get until the Stockholm Design Week is over. All needs to be finished these weeks, all logistics, finances, parties, press material, invitations.... but we are very excited about the participating companies and individual designers, and the wonderful concept NoPicNic has prepared. We still have more room if you wish to join! We are planning a press and information event in Stockholm on March 16th. Welcome.

No Picnic has worked out the overall concept for Swedish Love Stories 2011 - Swedish nature and romance of course with Swedish materials, the archipelago in wood, the red barn in paper - and there must be a bar in the barn - and in the VIP lounge we go for Swedish Love Affaris
