some 500 EUR was my penalty fee for playing music to our visitors at our exhibition, asked by the Italian music authority S.I.A.E - Two guys came like secret agents to our stand right before the opening party of our Swedish Love Stories, and made me sign a paper that I would pay the required tax at their public office the following day. Said and done, I went there to try to pay, but the room was filled with other criminals like me, and I couldn't get there in time before they closed. The next morning I was there even before they opened and the kind guy behind the window, almost drowning in papers, old fashioned machines and dust, explained to me why I had to pay for playing Swedish Underground music (I think he meant back ground music). A costly, but amusing experience. There are many of these kind of unexpected costs.
|I did my duty and paid to the Italian S.I.A.E for playing music at the party and in the stand as you can see with stamps and seals.|
